John Jordan Begins Term as President

John Jordan began his term as President of the GWA after the Association’s membership unanimously approved a name change of the organization to Global Workspace Association.  Jordan, is the President of BusinesSuites, based in Austin Texas.  The company has eighteen centers in four states.

James C. Baughman, Jr, President of Office Suites PLUS, based in Lexington, Kentucky, is the Association’s new President-Elect.  Office Suites PLUS has thirty-five centers in nine states.

“I am excited that this year we will begin the process of expanding the scope of our Association,” said Jordan.  “As the Global Workspace Association, we will expand our reach, creating a bigger tent to represent the most progressive elements of our industry.  Our Association needs to – and will – advance workspace as a service.”

“As President-Elect, I look forward to working with John Jordan over the next year on our growing Association and I’m excited to help set policy that enhances both the value proposition for our members and encourages more participation in our industry,” said Baughman.

John Jordan has been involved in the office business center industry since 1997.  In the past, John has also served in financial and business development roles in commercial lending and private equity investing and served on several non-profit and for-profit boards.  John has both bachelors and masters degrees in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin, where he also taught a course entitled Entrepreneurial Finance for six years.

Jay Baughman co-founded Office Suites PLUS in 1998 and serves as its President.  Jay has over 25 years of experience running both publicly traded and privately held companies.  Jay has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Transylvania University, and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Kentucky.  In addition to other advisory and non-profit board positions, Jay is a member of the Board of Trustees for Dupree Mutual Funds, serving on the Valuation and Nominating Committees and as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
